Preface

The rays, to speak properly, are not colored; in them there is nothing else than a certain power and disposition to stir up a sensation of this or that color.

This text tries to explain the craft of digital alteration and conjuring of images to your own liking. It attempts doing so from a programmers mind-set rather than a mathematical one.

The text presumes that the reader is able to understand code to a certain extent, and that the combination of the code showing the actual logical steps involved combined with a basic introduction to the same procedure in english will provide an understanding of what is happening to the image data and why the algorithms yield the output images they do.
